Meet the Artist

I’m Joseph Hubbard, a photographer, artist, and maker based in Germany.

What started with photography has grown into something much bigger. I’ve always enjoyed creating things, whether that means spending hours outdoors waiting for the right wildlife moment, turning one of those photographs into a piece of wall art, painting, designing graphics, or building something completely different in the workshop.

Hubbard.art is where all of those creative paths come together.

Inspired by the Natural World

A large part of my work begins outdoors.

Wildlife, landscapes, changing seasons, small details most people walk past, and the quiet moments that happen when you spend enough time in nature have shaped much of my photography and artwork.

I don’t want to simply document what something looks like. I want the finished piece to carry some of the feeling of actually being there.

That might be a fox appearing through the trees, a bird caught in the last light of the day, the colors of an autumn forest, or a landscape that makes you stop for a second and look a little longer.

From Camera to Wall

Photography is still at the heart of what I create.

My wildlife, nature, landscape, macro, and travel photographs become prints, fine-art pieces, canvas wall art, and selected limited editions.

I personally choose the images that become finished artwork. Not every photograph belongs on a wall, and I want the pieces offered through Hubbard.art to be images I would be happy to hang in my own home.

More Than Photography

Hubbard.art also gives me room to create beyond the camera.

That includes original artwork, graphic designs, painted pieces, laser-cut creations, models, personalized gifts, and whatever other ideas happen to make their way out of the studio.

Some projects start with a detailed plan.

Others start with, “I wonder if I can make this…”

Those are usually the fun ones.

Made in Germany, Inspired Everywhere

I’m an American living and working in Germany, and much of my work is influenced by the places I explore throughout Germany and the rest of Europe.

Living here has given me access to an incredible mix of forests, wildlife, historic places, mountains, coastlines, and landscapes. Travel continues to play a major part in the images and ideas behind my work.

Why Hubbard.art?

I wanted a place where I didn’t have to put myself into only one creative box.

Photography has its own home through Joseph Hubbard Photography.

Hubbard.art is different.

This is the place for the finished work: the photographs that become art, the pieces made for your walls, the things created in the workshop, and the occasional idea that doesn’t fit neatly into any category.

If something here makes you stop, smile, remember a place, or imagine it in your own home, then it has done exactly what I hoped it would.
